PARISH RELIGIOUS EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN Kindergarten - 8th Grade

Dear Parents, Grandparents, Guardians and all who are interested in the welfare of our children,
Our religious education program is held from September through April, and classes meet on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:35 AM in the Faith Formation Center on Columbine Drive. Dedicated catechists use materials that help them break open the Word of God each Sunday. Themed according to the Liturgical Calendar,and age specific, these materials assist the teachers in preparing our children for Mass. Catechists use story-telling, crafts, acting, and music to enhance their classes. When the students, attending Mass as part of the parish family, hear the Sacred Scriptures proclaimed, they have a better understanding of Jesus and his good news.
During the calendar year, about once a month the children conduct and/or participate in specific prayer experiences: September: Catechetical Sunday, October: the Living Rosary, November a Thanksgiving Prayer Service, December: Bambinelli Sunday, February: Lenten Prayer Service; March: Living Stations of the Cross. During the course of the year the Sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation are celebrated.
